About the Studio

For more than thirty years the Studio of Transport Design at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design (AFAD) in Bratislava has been the leading Slovak programme dedicated to future mobility. The studio is headed by prof. Štefan Klein known as the designer of the Klein-Vision AirCar flying automobile—who founded the first transport-design atelier in the country.

The curriculum merges artistic freedom with rigorous engineering: students take ideas from hand sketches through CAD, clay, VR and 3-D printing.

Collaboration with industry is integral—AFAD teams have developed research briefs with brands such as Audi, Volkswagen, Škoda Aufeer, Renault, Land Rover and BMW giving students real-world feedback while companies gain fresh interns.
